Vintage cameras (~50 years old)

Hi guys. I've recently inherited 2 vintage cameras (Leica and Zenit) which are around 50 years old. Since I don't have any use for them really, and since they're probably worth a lot (judging by how old they are and how these things gain on value with years passing), I've decided to sell them. So does anybody know what's the estimated value I could sell them for and aim for, when I'm selling?

If you can tell us the exact models perhaps we can give you an estimate. I know both Leica and Zenit are great companies, their cameras are worth a hefty amount on the right market.

Well you can look up the make and model and see how many are still around these days. But I would say without anything, maybe about 100 to 250 each about. idk.

Unfortunately old doesnt mean valuable, old camera's have little practical value and are only really bought by collectors now, so rarity and condition are the big factors. You could have a couple of great camera's but if they were sold in vast numbers, or have cosmetic damage they will be near worthless.



Personally I still have my old Practica BMS, SLR, fully manual shutter & aperture, assorted baynot fit lenses ( original 50mm, 35-70mm zoom, 35-140mm zoom, 2x convert, lense tints, anti-Glare hoods, tripod, separate manual set flash, light meter, all boxed as new and in mint condition, over 20 years old now. Also still have my developing kit ( Jessops own brand lol ).

But I dont get the opportunity to use it and it's not worth selling because everyone wants digital instant pictures.

Digital may still be used in an artistic ways, but it has killed the need for skill, knowledge or high quality equipment and the craftsmen who made that equipment.
