Help me find the best cellphone on the market for Sprint.

If you suggest AT&T or an Apple product, I'll warm your ass.

Feel free to suggest phones for any carrier, there will usually be a similar device for Sprint. Take the HTC One series, these are supposed to be AT&T exclusive, however there is a rumor that HTC is going to announce a very similar model for Sprint called Evo One.

I don't know very much about networks outside of the UK and whether or not certain phones are currently available on them but I do know about phones.

You've said to avoid Apple products (hi five! ) so without further ado.

Galaxy Blaze 4G - Definitely a USA only product from the 4G in the title. Dual core 1.5Ghz Scorpion processor. Shame it's only runs Android 2.3 though.

Sony Ericsson Xperia S Another 1.5Ghz dual core. Lovely sexy looks. Android 2.3 but there is a scheduled upgrade to 4.0

HTC One X - Not yet released but scheduled soon - Quad Core 1.5Ghz - Android 4.0

Galaxy SII Much loved and highly popular phone. Dual core 1.2Ghz A9 processor - thin and very light - classy phone.

Galaxy Note The largest of them all and more for the tablet fan. Dual core 1.4Ghz A9 processor. Good for business users.

Helpful you are indeed, thank you.

Even if you only know about UK phones, that is still very helpful. Generally there is an American counterpart, either the phone with a different name, or slightly different but mostly similar.

I can not stand the closed nature of Apple products, the fact they're overpriced as well means I won't touch them.

I have a sprint account and would prefer to keep Sprint, but I am willing to consider other carriers that are not AT&T. They're really the perfect carrier for apple products. They are so much like AT&T, overpriced, under delivers and very strict about what they allow.

Obviously I'd prefer an Android, but I'm not completely against getting a Windows phone. I'll keep an open mind.

I had an Evo 4G. I loved it, but it has been stolen. Which is why I created this thread. I have a temp phone until such a time as I can replace my stolen phone, so phones that aren't out yet, I'm still totally interested in, especially if they are supposed to be one of, if not, the best phones on the market.

Next to calls and texting ... what else do you do/did you do with your old phone ?
Whats your comon use ? internet ? apps ? wifi ? lots of bluetooth devices ? tv connection ? Storage ? MP3 and video ? Photo taking and recording ? Emails ?

There are tons of decent phones out there all providing similair functionality.
From a personal stance I would advice a Samung, one of the galaxy models.

Why ?
Ease of android market and its tons of free and paid apps.
Its ongoing updates and improvements which happen a lot faster then Blackberrys or Iphones.
Price.


I got a relative small and cheap model, the galaxy gio.
For only 150 euro (less even) you can get this sleak touch phone as a prepaid thing even, but I have a monthly subscription.
Its cheap price gave me lots and lots of advantages on the subscription I got from vodafone.
ie more calling hours in the subscription for a low price.
In contrast to something like a new iphone or very expensive models, of which you pay a major part of your monthly fee and only get so few calling/texting time.

I use it to:
Calling and texting
Video recording and photos
Connect to my local lan and file browser for various data transfer actions via wifi (pics, mp3, files)
Hooks up to my car kit
play lots of games
Surf internet

Only down side is that it has small internal memory, which limits the amounts of junk I can install 'to phone' it ofc has a micro sd card slot, but some apps require them to be installed on the phone.


There are far better models now with relative low prices, but its something to keep in mind.
The more expensive the phone, the less advantages your subscription will get you.

Note: Iphone products generally have problems using outlook like tools, which gets them in trouble when they want to connect to windows exchange ser ver to fetch their mail, has to do with the encryption, depanding on certain updates in the server, it might work, or not. Android devices have no problems with this.

But to answer your question, calling is about the only thing I don't do with my cell. I hate talking on the phone. The number one thing I do is tether, second is music and video. Which is the reason I bought the Evo 4G in the first place. I wanted an MP4 player and neeneeded a cellphone. The Evo 4G with it 4.3"was perfect, it was the top of the line when I bought it, which was important as I wanted to be sure my phone could hanhandle high quality video.

Sprint is a great carrier, the plan I have is mostly unlimited, only limit are calls made between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays to landlines and international calling/texting. I also have insurance, all for around $82 a month.

I used 11 minutes for the month vs. 600 text messages and 42GB of data during the same period
