can i ascend after changing myrace or do i loose the points?

if i have enough ascention points / g&r points and i want to change race from goa'uld to asgard to become an ancient will i still be able to ascend or will i loose the points and have to start again?

I believe you keep them

but even better would be to ascend as goauld. you can simple change your race without any losses after you had ascended. only from one ascended race to an other of course.
thats one of teh pecrs of being ascended
