There are multiple users with oversized avatars, that force the borders of the tabel to break.
This not only distorts the layout of the forum (if you view the controls at the top you wills ee what I mean) but it's slightly annoying to.
It's possible, and, if I'm not mistaken pretty easy to impose dimension limits for avatars.
The main avatars I've seen cause this are ones with the width of 200pixels or greater.

it does not matter if there is a limit the width of the avatars, as long as forum has an option to link to an avatar offsite instead of using one from a gallery or uploading on, then the iamge can be as big as the user wants.
to get rid of this Forum has to go into the admin panel and under configuration there should be a section on avatars, click the one that disallows linking to offsite avatars.
that way only avatars that are a set width/height and a set weight in KB's will be allowed up.
I also think a limit to the size of iamges that are displayed in signatures be reduced to the size of a standard banner on a website, around 400x60ish. this will be a manualy inforced thing since there is no way to limit the size of an image in a signature in the config panel.
this is the current size limit for avatars, and it should be enforced.

i've seen truly bloated avatars and banners, and they only make the forums hard to read. I think it's pretty inconsiderate of ppl to put up such large avatars and banners. Size restrictions would be nice... but a bit of a chore for our mods to enforce.
your sig is fine i imagine.
and i hope mine is too.
the main issue was avatars, which i agree, some limit is needed

uploading from your machine would be fine, but linking to offsite avatars breaks the tables.
Go to your profile he imposed a 200x200 limit on off site avaters not banners i changed my avater to fit with it and down sized my banner but any one whos got a lager avater who has already has it registered will have to change them selves or the mods one would have to remove it.
Ps i'm not going to down size my banner again as i have to re-do the whole thing to blend it in properly. This at least the 5th one ill end up doing this,
against my wall if i have to do it again.

To be honest, all the resizing doesn't make it look any better. Don't you have the original anymore? That way you can resize it in one step and prevent those nasty distortions.

As soon as you build an idiot proof system, somebody else builds a better idiot.
If it moves, kill it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does move, and then kill it.

yeah i do i have like all the attempts saved just in case, it actualy looked ok just had to work out proportions last time the writing looked wrong thats why i did not resize it so this time i took the original writing from the first one and copied it down onto the smaller version to make it readable. Thanks sleipnir
i would not have tried it again other wise.
