Kicked back to login page regularly
I am being kicked back to the login screen all the time...I log in alright and am doing things in my account and just get kicked out? Is this a bug? I have ADSL and don't have problems logging in the first time, or any other time either. It doesn't matter what I am doing, training, armory etc after 2 or 3 pages i get booted out......I used to login on "stargatewars" and I now log in on "gatewars" and it happens with both....Please help.....Thanks ~~Gothic~~

When it kicks you back to the login page, it should give you a couple of error codes. Maybe you could post those to help locate the problem.

As soon as you build an idiot proof system, somebody else builds a better idiot.
If it moves, kill it. If it doesn't move, kick it until it does move, and then kill it.

and most of the time they're in red (right?). that should make it easy to find.

Thank you for your replies....Below is what I am getting when i am kicked back out to the login screen.....
**You are not logged in. Please try to login again. Please note that cookies MUST be enabled to login, for security reasons. Only your player ID (not password or email) are kept in the cookie.
IF YOU CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS LOGGING IN: it is likely your browser settings. To test this, please try the Mozilla Firefox browser (it is free, quick install, spyware free, and very good). You can get it at:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox (link opens in new window).
If firefox works, you know it is your browser settings.
If this fails - try turning off your firewall, and reloging in. If this works, you know it is your firewall settings. You can then turn your firewall back on, and try to allow traffic and cookies to/from *.stargatewars.com.
If all this fails, please send an email to mailto:support@stargatewars.com and include a screenshot if possible of this page, and as much detail as possible about your setup and errors you get.
Thank you. ***
I only use Mozillar and have the latest one...All other pages load and respond as they should, including those requiring a pass word.... Hope this is of some help....~~Gothic~~

I wish it was only when turns come around but it happens all the time...I have to login a minimum of 6-7 times in the space of a couple of minutes...I have checked all that was suggested in settings etc and all are fine so don't know what is going on......It was also doing the same thing to me on the forum last night....~~Gothic~~

I doubt it's your fault, because this "bug" is not even SGW related, but even PHP related. PHP seems to have a bug regarding sessions (which SGW obviously uses), which are supposed to last 3 hours. However, often they don't last even 30 minutes, and when your session gets expired, you get kicked out of it, in this case back to the main page. The only way to solve this is by using a second level to support the sessions, namely cookies, or a database that keeps track of them. Both are with some security issues though...

does this problem occur when your raiding/attacking from say a farming list which you copy and paste the http://www.sgwblahblah.com/playerthingid=idnumbers
into the address bar?
or if you click the link (if it is a link in say a word/excel document?)
if its from the word/excel document then thats why (as I created a nice lista while back with all sorts of info in... and found whenever I clicked a document link i would get logged out...
a bit more information would probably go down well
< added >I read your recent thing about the same problem happening to you on the forum too...
This could be related to several things
1) possibly your browser settings being set at too high a security setting (I only use Explorer (none of this firefox/mozilla rubbish) if you give me that well firefox/mozilla doesn't have any flaws/exploits like most people "say" I will just simply laugh at you...) which is probably causing restrictions on your cookies...
2) do you have a "cleaning" application running which removes spyware & such running in the background as a lot of these have a constant sweep/clean mode where they are actively removing "bad things" which could be causing your cookie problems also...
possible solutions...
try using IE or Firefox... if the same problem happens then it probably isn't browser settings...
if you have some sort of cleaning/protection app running... disable it and try then... if that still happens... it may be something more sinister... (god I love saying that...)
Hope some of this helps

Ok I have tried another browser, IE, and have so far had no trouble with it....I will keep using IE for a while and see how it goes...Firefox is still doing it to me even lowering security settings etc...Maybe there is a problem with the programming and not being compatible with something in firefox? Thank you for the input and possible ways around the problem maybe IE is the way to go for this game although I must admit I do prefer firefox without all the hangups of IE

Am now using firefox 2, IE started doing the same thing, and have had no problems so far...Unfortunately I was constantly doing maintenance on my profile when i got booted...I would put amounts in to train troops and *poof* off to the sign in page I went then after training I would go to bank some naq and yep you guessed it off I went again...This in a space of not even a couple of minutes....Thanks again to all who posted..I am now keeping everything crossed that the issue has resolved itself with the upgrade of ff
Cheers ~~Gothic~~
