Some raiding questions

Anyone want to teach me how to raid like a pro?

Im hitting targets and making 560 per 15. Is this good or bad?

Whats it going to take to steal more uu? Ive hit ascended accounts with army sizes over millions, uu in the 100k and only get around 560 a pop. Whats the deal? Do I need a bigger arsenal? What am I doing wrong? Do I need more weapons?

Im feeding off the bottom right now, in the 13k ranks. I figure this is a good place to start and experiment.

I'm not the best raider, but I can tell you that you only need 1 attack weapon to get the job done...
if you're buying turns at 20UU:1AT then every UU you take over 300 is pure profit (minus the weeny repair costs)
so, if you get 1k turns @ 20k UU, raid 500/15 AT, that's a 13k UU profit.

thats how Im doing it, just trading them for turns currently, doubling up etc etc etc. So What Im doing is the right thing?

At the time I was using 20 attack weapons for good measure against defenses. Not one, but damn close

im no pro either but what i do is pick targets woth 25k+ uu out and raid them down to 20k or so. i sell some of the uu for turns and those i dont sell i train as wateva i need them to b (either spies or miners)

try to keep away from those with def (if ur raiding with 1 weapon)

wat you steal is all dependant on how much uu the target has out

30 UU per 1 turn is good but i am not saying u should always hit that u should always find bigger hits how do u find bigger hits either test raid them and interpolate the next few outcomes or actually spy on them and see how much UU they have

also remeber to click the declare war <---trust me there are some that abosuluty dont do this

no u do not need more weps you just need 1 wep and raid with it
but its a good idea to keep a good size trained forces but keep them unarmed sometimes u hit those jack pots i mean 100k UU target but they have a defence thats where ur unarmed trained forces come in get weps for them and mass away there def and rob them.

just dont hit those fools with a def or u see alot of dead units

Will this is from my own experience dont use the UU u raided to buy turns or even sell them for naq to buy turns...just use ur income and buy the Turns, the only resaon i see why ur raiding is to get bigger...why sell ur hard earned work when u can keep it and make those UU work for u

If your gouald a cheap and effective way to get UU is find someone with loads of trained soldiers without weps and mass them anyway. If you got the unique techs you can really get a goldmine, and mass the person in the process :-D

LOL, well I guess you could look at it that way, but I don't think it amounts to a whole lot.

I like to use mercs ONLY for my attack force, that way if I do accidently hit a defense I don't lose anything that can't be easilly replaced. Don't forget to either sell your fleets or send off the mothership before you start mass raiding, otherwise you're going to end up with a HUGE repair bill and / or lost fleets. Trust me, I've massed my own fleets before while not paying attention, it doesn't take long. Also a couple attack planets never hurts in case you need to build a strike in a hurry.

As far as how many to raid... it all depends on what kind of raider you are. If you are a hardcore raider who sells UU and buys more turns, you'll want to keep your profits high, and aim for as high as you can get it. If you're just a casual radier like me, you can go a little lower because it's pretty rare that I trade any UU for more turns, if anything I'll just use my income to buy a few more MT's every now and then.

Army size of the targets doesn't really matter. Some of my best farms are small with a moderate UP, but nobody bothers checking them very often so I easily pull 10k off of them every other day. Huge armies with high UP aren't always the best because everybody checks them often. Small armies with a good UP are the best, as long as you keep them trimmed most people will never know about them. :P

Finding the targets takes some luck, you can find them all over the place. I try not to look at people with a defense though, because that just leads to other complications. If you are the one that does break the defense, keep that farm trimmed and it can be your own personal UU Farm as long as they don't come back.

I'd add more, but raiders don't like to give away too many of their techniques because it just leads to more competition.

No, the goa'uld special tech just lets them assimilate part of the enemy's casualties as their own UU after the battle. So if you kill lots of units you get lots of UU.

Actually attack mercs aren't necessarily that easy to replace. You have about 10 seconds at the start of the turn to get mercs before they're all gone. It depends whether you want to compete with other people for the attack mercs, or just shell out the UU and more naquadah for your own troops.

you don't NEED to declare war. but if you do, i believe you gain a 5% increase to the amount of uu you raid. i can't remember the exact percentage, but declaring war does help because it raises the amount (even if it's a small one) you get per turn.

It's more than 5%, and it's worth it... anybody who doesn't declare war when raiding is wasting turns and being a n00b.

Help & Rules wrote:Raiding is an attack type that focuses on stealing untrained units, opposed to naquadah. A successful raid will get up to 1.5 percent of their untrained units (add 50% if you are at war with them, and 100% if both sides are at war), if full turns are used. Less time (turns) means less can be raided. The damage to troops, weapons and mothership is the same as a normal attack. When raiding, anti-covert agents are not used. Aside from these differences, raid is identical to attack as explained above.

If you don't care about wasting UU then you shouldn't be raiding. The whole point of raiding is to get more UU. Mercs are TON cheaper to replace even if it is a pain to get them. Also the more UU you have, the more naq you make. Thus selling UU is pretty n00bish in itself unless you are using it to gain more UU in the long run.

Also, if you're a little small like me, and can't afford more turns with your income alone, then selling UU for AT is ok 8)

Yeah that's what I meant hehe, you are raiding a profit so it's not n00bish. At least I hope you are raiding a profit.

Ok, Someone answer me this:

anonymous target has untrained of 1,135,271 in the clear blue open, yeah! No kiddin!!!

0 defense

he declared war on me ages ago and I declared war on him.

Out of four attacks:

472 Untrained Units Kidnapped 15 0 0 1,964,616,671 3 details
566 Untrained Units Kidnapped 15 0 0 1,819,678,225 3 details
432 Untrained Units Kidnapped 15 0 0 2,368,626,432 3 details
626 Untrained Units Kidnapped

Why am I not gettng thousands per 15 turns? Is this a bug?

Thats what I've decided to do for now. I make quite a few hundred extra turns per trade, then blow them buying naq to upgrade. Someday though, I will blow all of the turns on UU and keep em, when my account is a little stronger
