Not really a newbie question but...
Why does it take 15 AT's to do a 'full' attack/raid/steal planet?
AT's

Yeah, I can't see it being raised again - as many people have the opinion that there are far too many ATs available anyway, which has led to decreasing the value of naquadah, and a less tactical game. It may be fast - but what has made it fast has been the almost free abandon in which MTs can be acquired and used - sadly this is also the reason the game is now devoid of teh need for any real strategy and tactics, and one of the reasons why there have been a lot of people leaving recently.
If you think about it - increasing AT actually means there is less naq available for most people.

Well, old players leaving is always a sad thing. But there is another side to the story, the higher number ATs will also allow newer more active players to "catch-up" a great deal. Hence encouraging more new players to stay and be more active, and get involved in the community. But I'm interested in what exactly has been lost in terms of strategy and tactics? I would've thought that more turns would lead to more competition/aggression, and more (albeit quick) wars ultimately leading to the most active and efficient groups coming out on top.

originally you could do 3 full attacks a day with 3 turns left over. So if you wasn't sure you could beat someone's defense, you test it once with one turn and then attack with 15 turns
1 turn test
15 turn attack
1 turn test
15 turn attack
1 turn test
15 turn attack
------------
48 turns used
I dunno my thought
