You may want to check to se if all of your badwidth is being eaten up by other processes.
In general, SGW is a very slow running game, so, having other things sing badwidth whislt on SGW causes windows to take longert to load, sometimes to the point where it takes an age to get anything on the screen.
As long as you are seeing black, this is most likely the cause.

a way to check to see if the page is simply not loading fully cuz of bandwidth restrictions is to choose a view status bar option from the menus. If the page has fully loaded it will appear blank or give some indication of a completed upload. If it is still uploading the page it may have a scrollbar thats not completed or text that describes the situation...
