To sumerise, basicially I made the post below originally a few days ago..

The debate has now evolved to a point where is there a need for Superpowered Alliances such as CoP, EPAc, CIA..

Rules - (can't believe I actually need to post these)

1. No flaming CoP, CIA, EPAc any individual members or alliances
2. No Spamming of any kind
3. No posts regarding the current war, there is a war thread on The Galactic Colosseum for that
4. Any questions regarding any posts, or posts that do not help this debate and have no relevence to what is being said should be sent via PM directed at the person in question
5. If you are going to be one sided in your view, that is fine, just be prepared to accept criticism for your views and opinions. Above all please refer to Rules 1 & 2.

THE QUESTION/S NOW AFTER 90 ODD POSTS

1. Should we as a community allow huge super powers?

2. Is it right to be able to genuinely defend yourself but you still allow all of your friends to take on your enemies, when you are perfectly able to do so yourself?

I was origanally going to post this in the "Peace??" thread in the col but as I wrote more and more of it I said hmm not a war declaration so stick it in general..

This is aimed at BOTH sides!!

I am sticking to my neutral stance in this war.. If you spam this thread then shame on you your a very bad person..

The reason I am posting this is becuase of ALL the crap being thrown around by both sides and becuase of a bad really bad manure-y weekend in my RL, if your offended GOOD and sorry at the same time, becuase I have just about given up on caring anymore..

If you comment on it without reading it then you are part of the reason why I have stopped caring..


Whether it be CIA or CoP that win I hope that every single person on the losing side quits the game..

Here's why

CoP members will be so ashamed that they actually lost having the "largest" and "best" armies at their disposal!!

CIA members will say right well this game is as boring as hell if 11 major alliances can't take them down and they dont have any plans to dispand so whats the point in playing because all they are going to do is sit on us for the next year or so..

When CoP dispands or loses CIA members will be like umm wow.. Now its our turn...

When CIA members delete CoP will have nothing to do except mass n00bs and looking for somone with over 5 million UU so that they can mass them before they become a "threat"..

Heck who knows they might even start massing eachother..

Either way a point will be proven.. If CoP win, they can say to themselves well we can't be beaten we "won" the game...

If CIA win its their chance to see if they can live upto CoP's standards..


Now for my own personal view on this..

Since the GA dispanded awhile back I have actually seen what it is like on the other side of the fence..

Not that lets say 75% of CoP couldn't give a rats ass but having their super alliance existing destroys the "fun" for the rest of the game..

Over the last few months I have become so sick and tired of hearing CoP are farming me and said if I farm back they will enter war.. Not just from EPA players but from most of the non CoP alliance members..

There are so many times I wanted to mass the crap out of individuals for farming EPA members but I couldn't because I know damn well that I would get everyone in EPA into a pointless un-winable war, all because I was trying to be a good alliance member..

All CIA are trying to do is say look guys you might love that your all great big and powerful but come off it.. Ye take things too far ye don't give anyone else a chance to "play"!

If I farmed one of your alliances there and ye entered war there is NOTHING stopping the rest of ye joining in.. It's your second law I saw it on a thread somewhere.. Anyone can join in a war unless asked not to.. Its pretty much common knowledge.. So whats the point in going massing one of your members because he was farming and possibly farming one of my allaince members knowing full well that possibly all 300 odd members of CoP will come down on the 50 odd members in my alliance.. So whats the point in trying to resist?

Hence I am powerless to do anything so whats the point in playing this game when I have no chance of winning..

I know I will hear from a CoP member so why don't you join CoP??

The reasons I don't want to join CoP is becuase I know exactly what it is like to be in an alliance like CoP.. I am an old GA vet.. I know the score.. I have done that and that is not what I would like to repeat again.. If I thought that EPAc would ever become like that I would lobby for it to dispand.. EPAc is a direct creation of the old GA, becuase at the time GA was too large.. EPAc was intending on breaking away at some stage on peaceful terms.. The GA leaders just got there before EPAc could leave.. Hence the little bit of shock..

It's ok tho, we knew we weren't one of the most powerful alliances in GA anymore.. So why did they need us? It definatly wasn't becuase of our power and our loyalty or anything like that and no matter what we would fight to help and protect our allies didn't help with any favours..

Like it or not EPAc was going to leave GA.. As I said our original intention was to leave peacefully.. For a time it was like this.. We had a NAP with Omega, no farming for under 10 billion.. This was to "protect" us from them farming us.. Twas all ok tho untill we had strikes to farm their members who some made 2-3 Billion per turn.. So we could haul prehaps 20 billion while they slept.. This led to the end of the NAP and the subsequent massing of Rob1 the next day.. The day after that Jase made his infamous post and we had EPA in a war with Omega, then the rest of EPAc wanted to help keep CoP off our backs.. Hence the first EPAc -v- CoP war..

Any other version of that story is complete Bull-Manure!!! Its a shortened version of what happened..



Now I will most likely finish my SGW time once this war is over.. I am staying neutral as much as I can but I am finding it harder and harder when I hear the daily crap being thrown from both sides..

I know that people will slag me off on this thread and you know I would really love to mass you but chances are you have nothing to mass becuase your in a war at the moment.. Or if your in CoP you will just take it out on my current alliance or even my old one if I massed you..

I didn't join the war for the sake of my alliance because I see NO point sending them into this bloody mess.. I support EPA and EPAc all the way as they are my alliance but I can't help them.. Does that make me a coward possibly.. Do I care maybe.. Do I want to help them probably.. Can I? No!! I can't becuase I stick to my word.. I promised that my alliance wont interfere and they aren't..

So what I am saying is I am sick of it.. I don't care at this point who wins this war or not..

And FYI too all CoP members who are calling people who joined in late cowards, they joined in becuase they are sick of the fact that no matter what they do they can't win unless they become part of your almighty CoP, which then also defeats the purpose of playing the game..

At this point I am in a bad mood with something that happened in RL and am venting on SGW (SORRY).. If I offended anyone sorry.. But you will find I am not the only one who thinks like this..

1 question stands out in my mind jamie....CoP are being tested big time in this war, if you guys hate what CoP stand for why not join in on the allies side and fight against CoP?

if you seriously want to see CoP gone, this will be the best chance anyone gets to see that happen...

i understand your rant, i did it a while back when my R/L sucked (still does).


anyways...like i said, if anyone wants top see CoP gone you need only declare war on them and you will be surrounded by like minded players

LOADS... its hard work finding targets... and in my book if people have a problem with CoP now is the time to do it...

JS - Your views are well written and easy to understand, and although I disagree with your opinions on the CoP, I can kind of see where you are coming from. Nice post. And I agree with the others in that if you dislike CoP, try get rid of them now. But if they were to lose [which i highly doubt], they would not quit, they would rebuild and have their revenge.

CIA doesnt work together they dont have 30 men convos like CoP are having and we are massing everyone that join the war...if CIA dont work together they lose...CoP is a brick wall..and CIA are bugs and hit the brick wall and go splat...they cant break through...they need to work together then they might have a chance actually doing damage.

i will say it again...anybody that hates what CoP stands for should jump into the fray now, there will never be a better time to take CoP down...

I have to agree with Bryan... the more people that get involved in this war means people will be able to get rid of the grudges they have held for god knows how long...

I just wish admin gave everyone 10kAT for free so that we could keep going instead of the market traders trying to rip the balls off of us warmongering types...

well they came in when most big CoP players where down anyway its not like they will add that much on the moment but there a great addition for CIA in the coming months

im sure some people will be glad as TA has a pretty bad rep for Omega/alpha but on the long term it cant be good for CoP that they joined

We like them in teh war...more people to mass
