Planet Upgrades

I was wondering what the best, most cost effective way to improve planets is....

Is it best to put all the Defences onto them to max out each size then Upgrade the Size or should i get the Planet to the Max size i want it before increaseing the Defences?

Also when should i Upgrade the Attributes that the Planet gives me, when its small? when its the max size i want it? or no diffrence?

as size increases the cost for defences also does. however larger planets are cheaper to upgrade attributes for.

id say max out on defences b4 increasing size then work on attributes. its the most cost effective way to do it
