Question on the costs of ascension

I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum for it, but i dont know where else to post so yea.

When you ascend, I know that you get to keep the lifers, but do the miners stay as well or is it only the lifers that'll stay with you during ascension?

and a 2nd part to the question

If the miner's dissapear, is it worthwhile to like continually retrain my miners so that the majority of them become lifers?

lifers stay, miners don't. and you need a certain number of UU(or miners) as costs to ascend(you'll know when you're about ready to ascend) so don't make all your miners into lifers. me, i like having excess UU available if i want to use them elsewhere.

just send away all your excess resources to a friend when u ascend. that way u keep everything (minus ascention costs).
