Is it time to remove the "hidden" part of ascending?

Do we not want people to actually play ascended?

Would it not make more sense to put it out there in the open and try to actually infor people whats going on and how to play?

Would it not benifit everyone (the ones already in ascended, the ones getting ready to ascend, and the ones starting over because they didn't know what they were doing when they ascended the first times)?

A more active server with more active accounts is the goal for the server right?


Why not open it up for all to see and try to get people actively playing?

More people = more fights=more fun=more people to have fights with= growth of the server.


I am a 1 year player of SGW. It took me 4(or so) months after ascending to even get access to the ascended forums to even begin to learn anything about the game. At first ascended wars was the most pathetic, boring, complicated, and dead server I had ever played. After learning alittle and play some in the last 2 months the game is getting better. It is no longer complicated but is still boring and dead. I farm for DMU daily to turn to LF to build my account with and since I started playing ascended seriously I have taken 1 hit that was defended. In other words

" The lack of active players means the game is still boring"


I would just like to try to draw people into the server and not drive them away from it.

Just my thoughts.

But many of the smaller alliances lack any real knowledge themselves.

IDK I would just like to see the server more active and can't think of much else that would help do that.

it isnt hard to get access, just pm the right mod with the right info and youve got access within a day or 2.

as for shuld it remain hidden or not, i think that alot of the knowledge here is common knowledge so showing it wuldnt give people anything they didnt kno already

personally i dont care if its public or not - but i do like it the current way cause the amount of spam in here is at least tolerable...

Yes the lack of spam is great on these ascended forums. If we jsut put it in the topen we'd just get a ton of noobs asking more questions.

I'm just sick of the 2 sided discussions on ascended.


I hated ascended for a long time and refused to play it. Now I'm trying to but its pointless as there is no activity in the server and I do not have the means to ever catch up to the active players.


I was just hoping to get more activity on the server is all.

Unfortunately the CoP has taken a monopoly in ascended, so at this point, attempting to make ascended fun is basically a dead mission unless you're one of the top guys(like me) or your outside the CoP.

I personally like it private, if just for the reduced spam.

MOST people don't ascend for the ascended server, they ascend for the main bonus's only.

Which is why we see so many descended and dormant ascended beings in main...or well, I do...but i farm...ALOT....

As to the question, opening the ascended forum's to the public is a bad idea, and not just because of the MASSIVE amount's of spam that will come in from random newbies and noobs.

The whole point of the ascended server is, and i quote:

Mysterious Restricted Server. Seek Glory in Main Server for access.

In order to reach ascension people have to play main, not every one who reaches the goal is enthusiastic about it, however there are enough of us.

The few of us that there is makes it more interesting, people want to join groups that there not in, thus they try to ascend.

Yes people will be able to find out anything they want about ascended from people who play, heck...I myself help guide many of my friend's on the path.

But that just makes it more fun. People will seek teachers, and i for one enjoy teaching people about the game, sharing my knowledge with those who wish to gain power and perhaps even surpass me in the eternal race. Tis one of the aspect's of these kinds of games that make them fun.

Plus, the ascended community decided long ago that the ascended server would remain secret for the most part. That the mystery would stay a mystery. The thread can even still be found where it was voted upon, here: Click me!

As you can see it's an overwhelming decision for secrecy.

And also, because of that thread rule 16 was added:

16) No discussing Ascension except on the ascended Forums.

16) Ascension is a taboo subject on these forums. there really should be little no information to the non-ascended players out there.

So...yeah. I don't think that the ascended forum's will be opened to the public any time soon.

(disclaimer: rule 16 is a forum rule, not an ingame rule. which is why im not breaking it by teaching my friend's what they need to know in order to survive the ascended server. )

Those who want to ascend will ascend, whether its for the main bonsuses or not. Making the ascended server public wouldnt change that.

Either way, I like ascended how it is atm... maybe a few ingame changes around the superweapon and descention. But the community is small, free of spam and lets face it we dont get many noobs around here. (Not saying I dont like noobs, but its good to get time away ).

OK I think my point has been misunderstood by many here.

I'm not saying opening the ascended forums.

I'm saying tell people how to play ascended, tell them what you need to do to do decent ascentions. Tell them how all the attacks work. Explain how the server works so maybe more people will play. The forum will not help if we open it. We need to open peoples eyes to the server itself.

I do agree most ascend solely for the main bonuses. And now with deascention people are most likely not going to come to the server as there is no live targets. If they are live then they will simply get someone else to drive you out of the server.

I know that Deascention was talked about so long ago and it was promised to the players and the community. But I just dont see the point of driving people away from the server. The idea someone can spend 12 days and keep someone out of the server for a year is just beyond me.

Deascention is truely broken as Shooting Star has said. I don't know. I just hate trying to play a dead server. Just trying to find a way to breath life into it.

Seriously...I ll explain it ...

I was once top 10 in influence in acension...right before the war with omega (GA) I had the rank 6 or 7 in influence and rank 1 Attack for a long shot (23 bils at that time) mojo was second with 14 bils

The war came I mass-raided ETL and became rank 3 in influence (for a very short time ) still this is the first "funny" thing
Then they started "doing me naturally" when it was over I was rank 150 in influence...

Now my question here would be....WHY am I playing ascension again?

Main bonuses...or to give everything I have in main and every knowledge i posess to reach the top 10 again...only to get nailed again...?
What would happen to sinisters acount if it was me owning it atm?

I think there isnt much to be said really lore...
IF you can come from the best of the best to the worst of the worse in a flash how come it is not DEAD COMPLETELY ALLREADY...

Answer is really simple because ppl like mojo...and the other top guys...would start saying HEY I invested a lot into this...it cannot be without an influenece now!

MY humble opinion is that ascended server is one of the biggest mistakes, no sorry THE biggest mistake IMHO made in this game...the deascension was created for the sole purpose of justifying ppls investments from main in ascension...
But that only made the whole thing worse...

Solution i sincerly with all my heart believe and am 99% sure that THERE IS IN FACT NONE...(the only possible which would also find resistance is seperating the servers once and for all...just meaning you can come to this server and fully grow only via main...
Anyways...if we stop the raiding NOW....we have acomplished little...if we leave the raiding...it is just as bad...some really silly idea would have to be presented...

And to be on topic lore...I swear if this guide for ascension really becomes public...I would go there and post...how awsome this server really is...where you can be the best...but you have to go with the rest (flow) if you stand your ground...you are as good as dead...

THere is NO ascension server...mates...ppl....there is only a COP server...
