when you upgrade things in the powerup section.....
...... does it effect main?
if so that means that some people must have like 200% boosted stats surely?
also, how much is a lot of dmu in the game, because i cant get my hands on any at all at the minute
couple of questions

No effect on main.

For you, I suppose anything more than 0 would be a lot. For me, 100 million DMU is quite a bit. For a new player to ascension, 100 thousand might be a lot. For the top guys, 10 trillion might be a lot. "A lot" is really relative. Not all that different than naq in main.

Re: couple of questions
If the auctions were still going on, you'd be best served by saving your turns (up to the 2K cap)... as it stands, just try and make each hit you do equal your income.
Simple way to do that:
Figure out how many AT you make per turn, figure out how much DMU you get per turn... divide 15 by you AT-perturn rate (lets say three), multiply by DMU generation - and whala... it gives you a good minimum number to start with - though (obviously) individual situations will vary.

Re: couple of questions
You could always wait until your next ascension. If you only had 55K, it sounds like you did a quick ascension and sacrificed your ascension account for the main server gains. But you said you did not convert the too, so which is it?
If you cannot do anything I would buildup for your next ascension. I made a similar mistake a few months ago and now I am trying to have a larger ascension to make up for my quick ascension.

Re: couple of questions
If you want to begin playing ascension with very low APP, you're going to have a tough time. Your 55K APP will convert to 1,815,000 life force so you could simply convert it and wait for your next ascension. With the rank modifier, your weak account, and 1.8 million life force, it would be nearly impossible to descend you and not worth the effort unless under extraordinary circumstances. Your account would be largely ignored.
If you want to being playing ascension, you're going to have to convert some of your APP into DMU and buy fleets. If I were in your shoes, I'd buy the following upgrades: Maximum Energy level 5, Energy Flow level 5, Energy Channeling level 5, Production Capacity level 10, Outward Charisma level 10. See where your Life Force level is at that point. You are going to want to convert a bunch of it (in small batches) into DMU and buy fleets but if you can do another couple of bumps to Charisma and still buy several hundred fleets, you should do so.
With careful application of the Life Force and DMU, you could get yourself started in ascension even with low APP. It's all up to you. There are probably other choices as well so don't think that my opinion represents the only strategy. Good luck.

Re: couple of questions
Goto the cosmic trade section and watch for when the auction finishes. Make sure you are on at that time and spend the DMU fast before someone hits you. Buy fleets, that should give you a kick along.

There will be another auction in a week or so and you can always set your alarm clock. You only need to be awake for 5 minutes.
