To play a game, really what does it mean?
I've come to believe something strange, the best player doesn't have the best stats, doesn't have the most units, doesn't have the best accounts but is the player that has the most fun.
So did i fall off the rocker and hit my head.
Or did i just find the meaning of life?
What's it means?

but ones fun to one player is not to another, so one player stat builds & is having the time of his life, while another has oe one stat but is causing havoc every where & is also having the time of their life, need i go on.
but yes what ever you do have fun, what ever it is

Yes I agree, but that's how it's with everything. New things are exciting and fun and then they get dull
That's just how life is.. I can't have the same hobby, practice the same sport or play the same game for a long period of time. Because I always end up finding something new that's more exciting and fun.

Actually i think he is suggesting a new stat.... fun action
Strike Action x Ranked: xxx
Defensive Action x Ranked: xxx
Covert Action x +
AntiCovert Action x Ranked xxx
MotherShip Action x Ranked: xxx
Fun Action 1,000,000,000,000 Ranked: 1
Great idea
But seriously though, i agree.
some people actually dont have fun,
like raiders, i mean most raiders hate raiding,
but they raid just so they can grow stronger and compete, not because its fun.
but at the end of the day, its a game, people seem to forget that,
including myself from time to time

The best player is the nicest player kind of, within reason. The best player is almost a matter of favouritism, the more favoured you are the better player you are in other people's eyes, we are talking about the best player, thus the best player in the majority of people's eyes.

more materialistic approach: the best player is the one that makes the most money outta the game.

Re: What's it means?
I don't agree or dissagree, actually I sort of agree with both. It's about what you want out of the game and what you get from the game. If you play because I want to be #1, then stats are important, for example if you have obsessive compulsive (not necessarily the disorder), OC but not OCD is actually a very good thing to have so long as you don't start missing the big picture because you're focusing too much on the little things. But it's like weight loss and scoring top marks and any number of things like that, some people strive to be number one, and those people will probably be best off with stats. Or even MORE likely - and I believe that MANY people who play games are motivated this way - people aren't achieving in other areas of their life as they'd like to be. Maybe in their workplace or their peer group they are not respected, they're not popular, they're not the ones with status, maybe they are having trouble losing weight, or having trouble with relationships, their house isn't as big as their friends's, etc. and games are a chance for them to BE powerful, to be in the top x% or even to be number one. So yes, I think stats are important if you play for those reasons.
But YES, if you like playing around, getting into wars for fun, attacking friends and getting attacked back knowing your rank will suffer but in the end you're having fun, then that's brilliant.
So I think it's really about why the person is playing. Maybe having fun is the most important thing, but for some people I think that having a sense of achievement is more important.
