The suggest i bring forth is one that you can physically divide your banks into parts that you name yourself. These individual parts cannot add up to exceed your total bank capacity ofcourse but would be useful for things like dividing up your naq as you want it to be saved/spent
I have no idea how long this would take to put into the game but i think the benefits are good and there are no real problems with it

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
this looks to be an original idea... and interesting...

"Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all who embrace evil. In the name of the gods, Browsers shall be changed to carry the internet out amongst the peoples and we will spread Firefox to all the unbelievers. The power of the Firefox will be felt far and wide and the wicked users of IE shall be converted to use the true browsers."

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
i will reserve judgement untill you clarify a few points.
1) how do you then empty your bank? do you have to go to each individual section individually. Because i figure you cant empty from another section - or it defeats the whole objective.
2)i dont know about you, but my bank size is ony about 65 bil naq, which definately doesn't need switching. So surely this upgrade will only affect a few users, wouldn't it be better for everyone on a whole if admin priortised things like my officer attack log suggestion, which affect many members of the game.
and thirdly - is this really necessary? i mean the idea and concept to me, sounds like a complicated bit of work for admin, on something which at the minute isn't necessary. Surely people know what they want to spend and save and should be able to execute a degree of self control.
those are just my opinions, good luck with idea and we shall see how unpopular my views are, lol

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
1) one the simplest way of this, would be to have it like the commander/alliance banks on chaos... a separate bank below the first one... another way would be to have different rows, with basic deposit&withdrawal amount set to 0, and that you have to enter the number you insert/withdraw...
2)the ones with greatest profit from this would be the largest players, yes, but most updates affect them more than the smaller players... but even those with only 0-300 bill bank can use it for their own benefit, simply if they have a goal, like a certain spy level... then they can use a section on the bank for that....
3) no not really neccesary, but useful...

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
relatively simple to implemenet, good suggestion, handy feature to have, and no offense Informer but you're bank size is very very small so no it wouldnt benefit you, but for those of us with 1tril + bank sizes it might (would me) and some people have 10+ even more banks.

Great idea.
Sure its not "needed" and again on the same note may not be a priority for the admins to implement. But is a simple little doo-dad that would make the game that little bit better, whether you use it or not.

lol, no offence taken,
but are you kidding me? 1+ tril bank size - how many miners is that?
and yep i guess with a bank size that huge it wouldn't hurt to be able to split it.
though 1 other question - if you guys sell uu using PTB for example say 1 mil uu for 600 bil naq - in which bank would the naq go to?
i would suggest you set one of you divisions as a primary bank and it goes in there - so if the naq is bigger than you primary bank size - it doesnt flow into the other banks because there has to be some catch to this idea.
so if your primary bank sze is 300 bil and you have 600 bil going into it from trade - you lose x amount of naq per turn - as with the current bank system.
again i only suggest this because there needs to be some catch to using the bank system.

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
i guess it'd go into your main or first bank section, and however much over the limit you are you loose X per turn as you currently do with 1 bank

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
Do answer the bank size question my bank is 1,802,187,607,082
And there are many many people with much more than that!
This is no way a suggestion to make the bank larger, just merely to cut up what you got so money management is easier/ more fun !

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
well i'd probably have sections
1 section as 'savings' which i wouldnt touch, for a rainy day
1 for upgrades
1 for overflow / fun money.
brokers etc would go into your first bank, then second and onwards until all are full (only one at a time - not split it)
e.g.
Bank #1 = 500bil, you have 400bil in there
Bank #2 = 500bil, you have 0 in there
Bank #3 = 500bil, you have 0 in there
you sell some UU for 200bil, it goes into bank #1, you are 100 over and X per turn goes out in the open as it does now.
Now Bank #1 is full, if you sell some more they go into bank #2 same way as they did for 1.
OR you could have it so that in the aboue example, Bank #1 gets full, and 100bil goes into 2, then when you sell some more it fills up2 until full then onto 3, when THATS full you get the overflow X per turn loss.

Re: Seperate Sections of a Bank
was there any holes in this idea. clearly the bank sections would never be more than your total bank before
even more interesting would be if you could set percentages to where you deposit something
like say you have 10bil naq, you could set percentages where
45% to bank A
30% to bank b
25% to bank c
it would just had some more fun money management

There isn't necessary a hole in the idea... it just needs strong support for admin to even find out about it ( someone mentioning it at the IRC meetings or something
)...Gone, left, no longer here.
