Unable to use 'Life Force' for upgrades?

For some reason only the cache is available to me for upgrades.
I am unable to use life force.
My life force and life force reserves are both full to max level?
The updates say:
4) upgrades can be bought with cache & life force (not reserves) - with cache used first. LF only used if you are 'short' in your cache.

I know thats what it says at the top of the power up page - but glock has a point - the updates do say you can use lf, and when the updates first came out you still could - why can't we now? When was the decision made to change it? (Sorry, not got much online time atm, but not been able to find it myself....)

So you can hardly buy upgrades with lf - unless you convert massive amounts of income straight to the cache, which is easily done for those with big incomes....

It's not the first time an update (an update to an update in this case) is not announced... and, after all:

when BIG changes come, some advance notice MAY be given, depending on the type of enhancement.
this is where to discuss these that are announced, and where we announce them.

What can I say... it is best to read everything carefully and check the forums on a regular basis.
