Re: Recon and planets.

I agree about making it easier to spy. However I think when you get a piece of information it should permanently stay there but in parentheses it should say the date you received the info. ie: Name:planet 1 Size: very small(as of 19/7) Type: ???

When ever they changes the name all the info would be lost, if they upgrade the size you would just have outdated info and so on. Also it would be nice if you could go in and change the info yourself, say if a friend spied them and gave you the info.

yes it is really annoying having to use 4 or 5 covert turns just to see a guys planets when he has so little covert. needs to be changed but i think your suggesting something a bit too complicated which doesnt need to be, simple if your covert is a certain percentage higher than theirs for example then you should be able to see everything.

Re: Recon and planets.

No, no no no no.

Did I mention, no.

Why make it EASIER for the strong to exploit the weak when there's already such a huge imbalance in the game? Make it LESS likely to get planet info on recon. Remove it altogether, and make the planet's purposes an unbreakable secret. Stealing planets is just one of many places, where imho it should take a LOT more skill, luck, risk and expense than sheer strength alone, to achieve.

The price of planet defence, n00bs and even intermediates don't stand a chance as it is.

<sarcasm>Yeah, let's favour those too lazy to make planets on the market and build them ( or send their ms out). That'll encourage new players to stay.</sarcasm>

"But we're at war and I want to remove his def planet". So take a chance and remove his planets 1 by 1, if you're capable. Who said war should be easy? And who decided strength alone guaranteed victory? That mentality's been the downfall of many a school bully.

I wonder why it is that all the suggestions that favour the strong get a big up while all the suggestions that favour the weak get dissed? I'm no n00b (but I ain't no lg+1 either) and anything that helps the little guys gets my vote. The big guys, that's the price you pay for a "no resets" server, sorry. You want EASY because you've been here a few years, or you want a GAME??? As it is, a few arrogant players and alliances can ruin the experience for hundreds, if not thousands of potential "worthy oponents".

The very fact that the subject's being bumped by people complaining that a huge advantage doesn't reveal planet's purposes sort of illustrates my point. (With apologies to all, absolutely NOT suggesting that they're the "arrogant" ones ruining n00b's game experience and acknowledge they could have very valid reasons for wishing to see a much weaker oponent's planets. I just absolutely don't think it should be any easier than it already is).

Re: Recon and planets.

Forgot to mention...

Tok'ra... hell, absolutely. A cache of recon already gathered (assuming the option to get recon info on planets stays, which is highly likely).

I'm assuming (guessing!) that the likelihood of a planet revealing it's purpose on recon is directly related to the def installed on it (stands to reason higher def would result in less ability to recon). At least I hope that's the case. If it's not, it should be.

Re: Recon and planets.

Also agreed, i have to put all my spied planet stats into notepad so i can keep up with the ones I've spied on, it is annoying, so again, i agree with tok'ra. But maybe it could be for a bit longer... maybe some time more then 1 turn, like an hour, etc.

P.S Gunslinger girl sig isn't it tok'ra

Re: Recon and planets.

I don't think it should be easier to spy on planets-I think that's good the way it is-although it would be better if:

Planet covert= base covertXconstantXplanetdefenses

Planet covert would affect being able to see the planets stats.

Anyways, I also agree that if you already saw their stats-be it planet stats or otherwise they should show up in red or parentheses.

Please add this when possible admins.

Re: Recon and planets.

How about covert info from the last hour shows up in red instead of question marks or something.

err... thats what I just said. lols. well, except for the "last hour" part... I'd say as long as it's in your logs it should show up here.

Re: Recon and planets.

I think the planets covert should function similar to NAQ/army size and stats, I mean for example on the attack page there in planet's name/size/and type and on recon page there is the whole make up of the planet. if your covert is equal to theres you should be able to gleam it's size on the combat page and then if your like twice there covert see a basic type UP/Attack/Defense/Covert/Income and for duals show there main type (such as if attack is listed first then attack would show up on the attack page), and then the higher you go in covert the more you regularly get to see per recon, and I am no big player by far, and as far as I know an update like this wouldn't help big players (since they mostly have whatever planets they want or can easily get them/build them if they want them, it would reduce the planets held by small players at first, but they would build and upgrade to the mid range. now the mid range wouldn't be able to go poking through the big guys planets easily since it would take considerable covert to do so, they would have to still spend hours combing through the lower ranks to target new players and there planets, it would mostly provide a nice update to an ever growing system.

But that is my thoughts on the planet covert situation and has been since there inception and will stay that way till the end :D

Re: Recon and planets.

I just think it is annoying that I have a covert of over 200bill and I spy on a guy who has less than 1bill and I get ??? :smt076 ! And for the people who complain about planets being stolen by bigger players, GET USED TO IT!

One day when you are that bigger player stealing planets from smaller players you won't be complaining. And instead of complaining, try and get it back or just go find a new one.

I think that if your covert is 10x the player you are spying, nothing should be hidden.

Re: Recon and planets.

the sole reason for such happenings is that it is based out of a random number generator... (a very advanced one, but still it is random numbers...)

Re: Recon and planets.

Why are planet stats based on a RNG instead of a def or covert action? Also-what RNG is being used and with what funtions?
