A little nostalgia (because I feel nostalgic)

Evenings folks,

It's been a while since I posted properly. Lest, to the subject of the topic. Nostalgia. Does anyone recall the good old days of SGW? Before the concordes of inhumane money making 'scheemers' and the illiterate trout-fish who (try to) verbally maim and disfigure the writings of the generally more articulate of forum go'ers.

Who recalls Goo? GhostyGoo aka the3rdlibra, aka the one that RepliJake loves to hate ;). The ones that those folks who couldn't beat him verbally because and refused to comtemplate that there are far more powerful users of the English language in the universe that just slated him with crap and tried to bash him down instead? Oh those were the days.

How is the game now? So engrossed in dollars that it's beyond a game? All about spinning cash out of the next mug who wants to be someone in the online world I imagine. It's quite sad. I realise that there are quality people in this community. And to those, I apologise for coming accross as a tad pedantic, but I've been through a couple of years of SGW and kind of think I have the right to comment, a little.

I hope the community is alright! I hope that the older ones are teaching the younger ones that there's more to life than SGW and the internet on the whole, and I hope you're encouraging them to write on this forum with a little gusto, and a little direction, as opposed to the verbally garbled text-spelt rubbish that most forums see these days.

Right, well, I'll take my leave, and God bless the old school SGW players!

Heh, I can never forget GhostyGoo - At the forefront are memories of joining an alliance (as a n00b two(?) years ago) only to find out that one of our members was he, under alias. I nearly fell out of my chair in shock.

I would just like to say that after reading this I thought yeah i'll have a look at that, I speak, read and write german fluently.

Not sure thought if its the fact that im currently on a night shift three quarters way through and a little tired but i spent over half an hour trying to figure out how to make Naq on the German SGW and to be honest i gave up adding to that the fact that theres about 20 players on there probably 10 active ... so with no naq and no one to play with well... what can i say more. Bump!

Re: A little nostalgia (because I feel nostalgic)

i only just arrived on the forums about the time GhostyGoo left. but i do remember him.

nostalgia eh? i remember the spam temple about 7 or 8 months back... i want that again... but thats not what you were referring to eh?

good to hold onto the past... hence the existance of the spam temple's 'aims gun at flamingo' thread. annoyingly that thread resides in the archives. it would be okay if it was also listed in the temple, but hey... ah well... at least its there for a long time now...
