this idea is a lil complicated, but it has it's merits, and disadvantages, that most people will like... possibly... you can use your mothership for finding planets, and attack/defense. it really doesn't have it's own special use. so what i'm proposing is where you can send your mothership to blockade someone's realm. any incoming brokers, when the person recieving it accpts, either, option one, the mothership blockading the planet takes the resources, or 2, the blockaded planet sends off their mother ship to intercept the aggressor. also as a side penalty for users that are blockaded as a warning. shipments from statis planets that add onto a person's account recieve a penalty. now in order for the person blockading to receive their hard stolen resources, they must have the mother ship returned. possibly take a 24 hour period for the return. if the aggressors covert isn't high enough, the person that was attacked, can find out and blockade the aggressors planet, preventing the mothership from returning the goods. and the kicker is, the attacker can have their mothership completely distroyed, by letting it set in foreign space, as they cannot make repairs, nor upgrades to their vessels. seeing as how you can destroy people's weapons, and units, why not destroy someone's mothership... after all, it's the only thing that isn't affected by ascension...

Re: Blockade
Not the best coloured text but I do like the idea of blockading.
Would make wars a lot more interesting if people couldn't just give resources to the affected parties.
I do think it needs a lot of work to be practical and fair, but worth looking into in my eyes
+1 good idea bonus from me

Re: Blockade
maybe instead of losing a 10tril naq broker... (for dual planet.....) instead damage the ....cargo ship.... making 1% of its cargo destroyed
which would hurt the person receiving it but not steal 10trillion naq....

Re: Blockade
I would of thought it to be an effective addition if you simply could not broker or gift resources to a realm being blockaded.
I think the addition of funneling resources and what not is an over complication that may not be needed at all to add the extra interest of blockading.

Re: Blockade
I have worked on my MS for a while now, finally got it close only 30bil away from my aim of 100 bil power.
Point being if it got destroyed i would get very annoyed.
Imagine Priller, not sure exactly how big his MS is but i have heard it is huge. If he lost his MS the entire server would celebrate.
So weighing out the conclusion - not worth it. because bigger people would be able to destroy others MS simply at the click of a button which isnt right.
Unless you introduce multiple MS's i.e a regional guard ship. I which case it could be considered expendable.

whoops
i rarely do brokers of 1tril + so forgot that but still, losing 999,999,999,999 would not be fun...
maybe it takes 5 MS's to blockade a realm, and if any broker comes near it 2% of resources in it get destroyed?
or any account with a blockade on it has a warning that theres a blockade on it?
or no broker at all i guess

Re: Blockade
even without multiple MS's the thing would be, the person blockading, can pull their ms back at any given point, but when you attack the blockade, win or lose, your ms comes back, so you can just farm more naq, repair, than go at it again, and they won't be able to repair their ms. and the 24 hour time limit and blockade would make the ms useless in an assult. or to bet the question of multiple ms's instead of having multiple, how bout, a home fleet. giving you ship options like weapon types, and they don't go nowhere, unless they are being blockaded. but that also cuts into the expense of building fleets, vs. up fitting your ms and that would make blockades pointless. unless, you just wanna use it as a new way to farm the lower ranks... personally another means of farming is relatively pointless... blockade should have function within the game. and if you wine about your ms being destroyed, well you shouldn't have blockaded in the 1st place. there's a risk to any action you take in this game, and this idea will build on that.

Re: Blockade
good idea, but I see abuse.
One you can go to the makret on the forums, find someone buying Uu and just blockade them 24/7.
One thing I want to know is would you still be able to use your MS? Will it cost anything to send you MS out, I think it should. And this owuld only benfit one person. It should be equal for person A and person B. Maybe a way person B could defend it.

Re: Blockade
How about the idea for the MS like an ascended account. Though it would not get totally destroyed...but incapacitated in such a way...that you cannot use it for a couple of days....like how you can get descended for 2 weeks and have no ascended blessing during that time. You take out the mother ship, its down for like a 2 or 3 day ppt and you don't get to benefit from it during that time.

Re: Blockade
i like the overall idea, much better with the MS not being totally destroyed and you not losing an entire broker to a douche with a MS. i would say it cost 10bill to blockade someone for 48hours (about the same as a PPT) and they dont lose the broker they are just incapable of setting them up or receiving them. but you have to have a way to find who is doing it or else this will be majorly abused. this would really help with 1vs1 fights when the other guys alliance is bankrolling him.
has there ever been a suggestion to where you can send your MS out to try and catch the units that deserted when UU was transfered directly

Re: Blockade
this previous suggestion of about 10 bil naq leaves this open for serious multi abuse.
ie someone could use a multi and blockade his enemy to prevent them from recieveing aid, then mass them, or even keep blockading them every week etc.

Re: Blockade
well here's how i see it, if your MS is at risk of being Destroyed, you won't use blockade unless sure you can pull it off. and the option of destroying it means that the person being blockaded can get back all their stolen resources. and it would be their own fault for leaving it at one planet for so long... and of course it would start off ms vs ms and if the defending planet loses, the ms goes back to the planet for repairs, while the attacking ms keeps it's damage, as the person won't be able to repair it till they have the ms returned to them. and the return time is 100% the attacker's choice thing is... you won't get any resources if you just send it in for less than a turn from support income planets... so there's more strategy in how long to keep it out there. and of course your ms won't support you if your farming or raiding... etc... since it's busy with other things. so there will be benefit for person a and b, person a, will have a ms tied up, stealing resources, and person b, can directly assult them, without having to worry about the person's ms. but as their planet is blockaded, that kinda makes their ms useless... it would cut on those players that ONLY invest in a ms, since, they would have too have a decent defense to prevent attack... also... it could theoretically provide protection for someone's ms, if they send it to someone's planet with a weak ms, or none at all... where person a could call it back at a later time, with minimal damage, so less repairs, for when a real war is going on... but really this idea is here to evolve for the most part. i still like the idea of stealing brokered resources, and taking a cut into production planets....

Re: Blockade
Hello!
Here are my ideas:
You use your MS's fleets to blockade. The agressor's fleets attack the target's fleet. If the agressor wins, there is a blockade. If not, there is no blockade.
In my a opinion, blockade would mean: - can't trade on market
- can't buy mercenaries
- can't recieve gifts
- can't use brokers, brokers already
started freeze (goes on vac lol)
A blockade would end in 2 ways: - the target's fleets attack the agressor's
fleets, so target can beat off the blockade
- or it expires in (let's say) 2 days
I think this would convert blockade into a strong warning, besides, ppl would be encouraged to build their MS fleets.
That were my ideas.
Thank you.

Re: Blockade
this wouldn't affect smaller players as they cant use the trade broker function.
though it would be very biased against newly ascended users.
