A Question for Admin & the SGW community

Is this within the Rules ?????

1 Covert Infiltrator Bot and 4,462,683 Super Assimilators and 7,586,561 Assimilators.

When it clearly states you are only meant to have a certain % merc's to SS

If so strikes can be made massive, defences can not because of the losses perturn, losses on defences SS wise will be massive compared to loses in SS on strikes.

you all can see where i am going.

No way to tell for sure that they are all mercs. Could be non-super attackers.

what i have found out is you can train up a load of non SS buy merc's & then un train non SS. When using an attack u only need these for a short time unlike defence.

so is it within the rules.?

when like i said it states differant in the rules, like you & I have said, are only meant to have a %.

That's also correct. Doing so, you lose 10% of the mercs per turn but that allows someone essentially 5 hours to operate in that mode. Admin coded it in such a way despite my protesting to the contrary. I think once you untrain, the number of mercs as overage should be dumped immediately or you should only be able to buy mercs based on the supers currently trained which, of course, cannot be untrained.

I'm 90% sure these are my stats your talking about... I do this and those stats look very similar to mine when I power up my strike. The amount of mercs your allowed to have with your supers is about 1:1.7 (supers:mercs) but your limited by the total max amount, troops in defence or troops trained and then untrained let you get to the 1:1.7 ratio. I'm pretty sure this isn't against the rules, training all attack mercs never was, if it is I (and whoever else may be doing this) will stop but I don't think it is. :-)

Cheers,

LZ

taken from the rules

each Merc (attack or defence) is paired with a 'super soldier' (attack or defence). This means that you can only have as many attack/def Mercs as you have supers of that type. (plus 10% for each merc level)

As far as I'm aware the extra 10% refers to the merc control techs that you can buy in the technology tab. After you ascend a few times there is quite a few upgrades there. I've got these ones so far but theres at least one more there to buy.

Bot Control Level 1
Bot Control Level 2
Bot Control Level 3
Bot UltraControl Level 1
Bot UltraControl Level 2
Bot UltraControl Level 3
Bot UltraControl Level 4

this means that when u have all upgrates you have this, again quoted from the merc rules.

You can only have 105.00 percent (base of 25 plus 80 percent in upgrades) of your trained troops as mercenaries.
Beyond that, you do not have enough troops loyal to you to ensure compliance to your orders.
You now have:

so if you put the two rules together you have what your max merc's either attack or defence should be, not one or the other combined.

You've got a point there, although I think the penalty for that may just be the losing the 10% of your mercs per day till your back under the 105% (95% for me). Should we query admin at the next meeting?

this is just like many other flaws in the game it is no different then sedning out uu tor aid then have them sent back its a confusing pocess but still happens and i have ideas on who has done it.

if theres nothing in the game that stops people doing it then by past admin-esque speeches it is meant to be

i do however think it is a rule break like many toher flaws but thats just the game and people by passing the usual ways of doing stuff

Away Team 0
Super Soldier 14,892,467
Attacking Mercenaries 716,529

Currently most are weaponless, but got enough naq in the ol bank to buy them back after the war.

And the mercs are just there for bullet catching ;)

Not so much as a bug, as a hole in the rules, which is being exploited?

I agree with Rek here, you're not allowed to do it and the punishment is that you lose 10% each turn if you do. As long as he's losing 10% each turn then he's not breaking the rules.

again i will quote from the rules

BEYOND THIS, NOT ONLY CAN YOU NOT GET MORE, BUT THEY WILL RUN AWAY IF GIVEN THE CHANCE!!! ABOUT 10% OF THE 'OVERLIMIT' WILL DISAPPEAR PER TURN.

now put all 3 rules together

each Merc (attack or defence) is paired with a 'super soldier' (attack or defence). This means that you can only have as many attack/def Mercs as you have supers of that type. (plus 10% for each merc level)

You can only have 105.00 percent (base of 25 plus 80 percent in upgrades) of your trained troops as mercenaries.
Beyond that, you do not have enough troops loyal to you to ensure compliance to your orders.
You now have:

This last bit (10% loses) was put in because as we all know, it does happen to certain degree when we buy merc's.

also attack mercs are only usally needed for less than a turn.

The degree which was done is another case, however the person who did it, seems to have done it in all innocence, but it still needed to be raised.

However by what you say, its ok to do it, so u are condoning rule breaking, as how can you say it is wrong & then say it ok

does this apply to every rule or is there seperate rules or differant rules & where can we find about these rules about rules :D & wheather its ok to break a certain rule to a certain degree,

ahh never mind
