It's true there are cross platform programs, but they tend to not work as well on Linux, in my opinion.
I find no problem with MS office. Even switching from office 2000 docs to 2003.
Tell me what you need to do and I will tell you of a program that does it in LinuxSeriously-except for games and a few programs that have a very small user base I have yet to find something I can't do in Linux-usually with free software too!
The only reason I have gone to such great links to get a decent computer, video games.
You can't play most games on Linux. Which is why I use Windows XP. Later I'll must likely add Vista as a secondary OS, for the Vista only games, but for now I'm happy with XP.
That is the ONLY reason I know of to run Windows... And it doesn't count for me coz I don't play any games really-except for starcraft and that runs under Linux. Of course I haven't tried crossover with those games-theyd probably work then...
