Re: John McCain for President!!

:?

I seriously don't see why you would be so confused.. I am continuously addressing Jim, as is evidenced by his being the last quote I use.. :P
Don't be so defensive.

And everyone, PLEASE.. use the quote-system the way it was supposed to.
Answering within quotes is seriously straining my ability to read. And colours are even more of an abomination, they make the text look laughable.

EDIT: To humour you:

Jack wrote:The hell are you talking about? :? I said nothing of the sort about blacks, and this whole "Black = derogatory" BS, isn't from the 60's, it just started, in the last decade....

Of course you didn't. I wasn't talking to you, smartie.

The hell? Don't equate everyone whom carries a gun to the stupid poor "slum".

I didn't.. I spoke only of the gun carrying, uneducated, lower class slum inhabitants.
Gun carrying people are of all classes.
Uneducated people are of all classes.
Lower class people live in many more places.
Slum inhabitants aren't always gun carrying, nor uneducated, nor lower class.
It was a rather specific group of people I was talking about. :) As is specified by the lengthy definition given.

Keep trying people to insert republican propaganda to my hard drive (I mean brains :p), maybe after several centuries you'll succeed to convert me? (I doubt it 99.998%)

Re: John McCain for President!!

Just the fact that you speak of "democratic beliefs" leaves me worried.

Democratic Beliefs are the opposite of good.
After all, everyone knows the True Faith lies with the Republicans.
Could we kind of stick to the topic?? Just kind of?

blah blah propaganda I close my ears and think of silence
If you want opinions instead of beliefs meh...

Funny how most of what I say is avoided for its initial sense and other sense appointed to...Usually it's me who do it, but here I believe I get some true facts and you look for any inaccurate things you can find..
Maybe some of my posts show obviousness?

Re: John McCain for President!!

okay... skipping past the rabid dogmatic partisan crap...
Seeing as how this will be my first year as a registered voter in the US I will be needing to do a lot of my own research before coming up with a final decision. however, here is my understanding of the major candidates atm

Hillary Clinton - highly polarizing figure, would continue the 'dynasty' trend. my thoughts? Hell no

Barack Obama - less experienced, more moderate than Clinton. Appeals to people on both sides of issues. my thoughts? strong possibility. will have to research in more detail.

Mike Huckabee - appeals to christians/evangelicals. my thoughts? sounds like the kind of president who would say stupid things like "I don't believe in evolution." though, if the other candidates don't fit with my ideas enough, may vote for him just for the novelty of a president that sounds like a cartoon character.

John McCain - highly experienced, Vietnam veteran. Considerably more open minded than other republicans. my thoughts? like Obama, he's a strong possibility. Military experience is definitely a positive. *writes note to do more research*
political correctness is a doctrine fostered by an illogical liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mass media that holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I believe gun control is being able to hit your target.

Re: John McCain for President!!

Hmmm from what I saw in a politic analysis some monthes ago about candidates, McCain was MEANT to be better than other republicans as more opened, BUT in the analysis they showed things that he was as much supporting the "stupid war" as other republicans and several other things, hence the fact I'm not supporting this guy.

There is one thing I like about Obama in particular, and that's supposedly that he is opposed to videogame censorship. Aside from that, I really don't know much about the candidates, and I don't plan on voting, ever.

That proves he's TEH ONE!
And I'd prefer seeing you vote McCain than voting noone Jack, by far, not voting is worst thing possible.

Then there is also the fact I can't vote, as my ID was stolen, and my SS card has disappeared, presumably stolen as well.

Hmm yes by default forced to abstain yourself...but not voting is only valid in dictatorship where oppositions boycotts elections...UNLESS opposition can't express themselves in US???  (hope not! :-D )

Re: John McCain for President!!

Don't forget in past LOTS OF countries had tyrants where NOT ANY election was possible, so it's a chance to be able to vote, don't forget it!

EDIT: lmao it ended all of a sudden!

Re: John McCain for President!!

Well, I would have gotten on sooner, but my internet went spotty >.<

Anyways, I too am behind McCain (though I will miss voting for the election by a couple days). Not because of any of those wonderful reasons Aurieal has, but more for the ideas behind MGZ's post. McCain has been a moderate his whole Senate career and votes with thought and heart, rather than party lines. I believe he is what America needs to resurrect itself, at least part way.

Apophis, some of your reasoning is disturbing, either because it is naive in American politics, or naive in general :? To all Obama fans out there, I'm sorry to inform you that your candidate is really no different than Clinton when it comes to recorded votes. He's also crafty politically, as he can still maintain an out of the Beltway appeal despite his swift learning of in the Beltway technique (Beltway refers to the highway around D.C.; in the Beltway= incumbent, out of the Beltway= new guy) Finally, he can appeal to young and/or middle class voters who feel that he connects to him better; or overly apologetic people like pops, who will elect a black man just to say that they have overcome the terrible wrongs done to African-Americans. Strange that nobody mentions the fact that the last two Secretaries of State have been black. Physical characteristics, or religious ones (*cough* MIke Huckabee), are incredible bigotted reasons to vote for a president or an official. This being said, I like him best of the Democrats, because I'd rather have a guy who at least appears to listen rather than a woman whose husband is a loose cannon or a rich guy who has put poverty as his chief issue (hypocracy? Possibly, maybe not, but still :?)

Oh, and btw pops, Democrats are for the most part for larger government. Yes, they'll probably get America out of Iraq (disasterous) and end up cutting military spending, just like Clinton, to get the money, leaving the military once again strained in future conflicts. Then, they'll pump all that money into what seem like good things. Some of them truely will be, but some of it will be spent on loads of welfare, or given to the states, who may or may not spend it well. Example, the Hawaiian school systems, where the $1 biliion budget doubled and nothing productive happened. I should know, I went to them.

Out of all of the Republicans, I think McCain has the best history, morals, and judgement. His service in the military has made him into a middle of the road politician who is willing to work with both parties (though, as pops indirectly mentioned, he still is loyal to the military). Also, while he gives every indication to having a happy familiy and good personal morals, I doubt he will attempt to force legislation on issues such as gay rights or abortion that the government should not deal with (I will not say whether I'm for or against, just that their is no need for government action in moral/social issues). Finally, back to his middle of the line history, I think he can best unify the government toward a rebuilding needed because of Bush's persistence. McCain for '08

Re: John McCain for President!!

You have many valid points Phoenix, aside of one, which I don't agree frankly with.
I would not vote Obama ONLY for the fact he's african american, firstly he's democrat, that's the MAJOR reason I would vote for him (a "black bush" wouldn't get my vote at all), secondly, he seems to represent the new generation (prejudice maybe from me, I don't care!) and finally reason you mentionned, not this being the MAIN and MAJOR reason, tsk tsk :-D
