General Orion wrote:If this is true your saying it acceptable to use ANY swear, weather it be mild or not.
And if this is true why does television and other forms of entatinment use rating methods and adult content advisory warnings to avoid the potential for children to be subjected to these words? Why would it be difficult to impliment the same standards? What would be difficult about making this a standar in the forums?
According to your standards your making it a improper environment for childern to be here if you accept swears according to context. This is why entertainment doesnt have exceptions, they rate the content according to it context. So what age group does the forums belong to?

Wolf359 wrote:Actually, I haven't missed your point - but you appear to have missed mine, which is there are many, many words in the English language which are only offensive depending on the context in which they are used. To even attempt to try and filter (or even mod 100%) all of these words would be futile.
b. Profanity
The use of profanity on the SGW forums is prohibited at all times. This means swearing, cursing and vulgarity. This includes the use of masking. SGW is a family orientated game and as such the language used must be suitable for children.
