Re: Can you trust a promise from the Omegan Empire?
i haven't read the whole thread and frankly i don't think i need to!
my account was completely trashed by 2 (or was it 3) alphas a few weeks back which was all a misunderstanding and after i contacted Don Lewis and explained to him what was going on he repaid me in full, so i have voted "Yes I Can Trust There Word"

i would have to agree with that statement, i've also found them to be just so

I think posting 'propaganda' polls of this nature is vry bad form; especially when we consider that a new diplomatic agreement has only just been signed. Personally, I think it says a great deal more about TO than it does about the Omegan Empire; but perhaps that's just me.

It's a good point and so i'll ninja it and apply it to some very recent events that I'm sure more then make up for any offense implied directly or unknowingly by this thread:
STI's recent thread on the morals of TLE, Draleg's not so innocent 'apology' thread, ETL's threads on our players or declaration of not accepting any further expansions without consolting the other party, REK's declaration of the same thing/general behaviour/racist remarks and Jedi in general, Janus threads, the large number of FUALL spamming or offensive posts in TLE/Janus related threads, Gunz and other diplomats speaking of war the second the NaP is up for review at a time where discussions were about to take place, The assertion of NaPs being forced to accept by the other side while publically declaring the same was not the case and so not returning the curtousy given to them - the list can go on and on and so it does not apply to just one side.
However I know we're not knights in shining armour and FUALL could possibly produce a similiar list, although not as recent or direct as the above.
The important thing to note here and the point i'm trying to convey is that no one side is completely innocent, but still manage to convieniently forget a lot of things when an opportunity to make a judgement call comes up. Its the proverbial rock fight in a glass house...

A lot of what you listed is inappropriate. I think the 'negotiations', and indeed the situation as a whole, would have gone a lot more smoothly if everybody from either side had just kept quiet... but trying to shut certain people up is a lot easier said that done.
But posting a 'Should we trust the OE?' thread mere hours after your alliance signed an agreement with the OE is doubly inappropriate. Not to mention fairly ridiculous.

I was going to ignore this thread but curiosity got the better of me.
Anyway, I think what Mordack said is a fair answer.

At a time of reviewing naps, lead OE diplomats go about talking impending war on forums was diplomatically inappropiate as were FUALL member(s) admitting to trying to provoke a war during discussions.
The formation of New alliances and then stating no other enemy expansions would be accepted after having just expanded was diplomatically inappropiate.
The Head of State/Leaders of both Empires in FUALL making rather downright offensive remarks in additions to Janus threads was diplomatically inappropiate.
ETL defending certain people with the 6 month window and then making a thread to attack TLE players outside of that window. That is a head of state and heart of the Omegan empire making direct attacks on a member of a rival empire using what some may deem double or selective standards. REK's behaviour likewise as the head of state was questionable and these represent their alliance of which TLE have to deal with, which is highly inappropiate behaviour from a person in that position. Again, diplomatically inappropiate.
The Apology 'rub it in' thread was diplomatically inappropiate after the addition of Mayhem was posted in another thread and accepted/over with.
The Introduction of a FUALL alliance with good luck from the other side and in no time later, the introduction of a Janus alliance with the courtousy not returned and in fact a lot of abusive messages posted as well as veiled threats. Not diplomatically appropiate.
I'm not defending this thread, I'm merely showing that both sides have done some rather inappropiate things at rather vital times or purposely stuck raw nerves from a position of relative safety. This thread is said to be antagonising after a NaP - Examples above can be found of doing things rather inappropiate after a diplomatic move. This thread is said to be a salt in the wounds and yet the apology thread was aimed at achieving the same thing.
This was all I was attempting to show.

hmm, ignoring everyone's post so far,
To be honest i haven't really had any dealings with them, but from the ones i have had,
suprisingly
i would actually trust TJP because there are a lot of decent people who keep to their word in both tle and TAF;
