Well, I mean besides the obvious fact that most of the pro legalization group has already admitted to it in this thread that question is kind of pointless... Secondly you act like it's something to be ashamed of when it isn't.

I'll respond to Sandman later when I have more time.

Unless you feel like debating religous dogma and stupidity I wouldnt bother, seriously look for the last couple of threads about drugs in this board and see what Sandman wrote there before you engage him.

For your consideration I direct you to the follow & you should read them all the way through to get the full picture of sandmans brainwashing

Marijuana causes you to become emasculated and argue on forums regarding its legalization, while doing little to actually help your cause.

hahaha, very funny but this is the debate section for stuff like this. Its not like we have much else to debate that people have such feelings about.

You might try making another topic we can dig our teeth into or doing something productive for this one.

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay

Alright without opening up a religious debate ( my answer has nothing to do with religion.... only rights as a human being).. Now when a woman "choose to abort a baby it is not illegal for them do to so. As they say it's a woman's right what she does with her body.. So, with that said (we those who smoke weed) regardless of what is being done in politics. This is about our right as human being to do with our bodies as we wish.( legal or not were gonna smoke) Marijuana does not cause any sides affects coming down, unlike booze, cigarettes, and so many Legal prescription drugs given out to people. There will never be proof that Weed is addictive physically. With that being said I can state that there is a little mental connection with the dependency of weed. I myself would not be able to post in this section and see so much ignorance if I wasn't high. As for admitting to smoking weed. Hell yeah I smoke it, it is apart of the way i self medicate myself without quacks doping me up with real addictive drugs. So, yes there is a mental dependency with most who smoke marijuana, but with a snap of a lil bit of will power those who want to quit do. I say if it is legal for a women to dispose of a egg, fetus, I call them all a baby. Then why not let us light up a joint every now and then... On that note take care :P

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay

NAY, for one main reason. If anyone has had PURE natural tobacco from a field, BEFORE the cigerette companies get ahold of it, you will understand why I say NAY. Pure tabacco does not contain all the nasty chemicals that the Cig companies ADD to it when they package it. They INCREASE the Nicotine in it and add the chemicals that make cigerettes deadly AND addictive. They will do the exact same thing to weed if it is legalized. They will increase it's addictiveness just to sell more and make more money.

Sell more? I think the market would just naturally flourish and it might encourage people to make their own, as marijuana, unlike tobacco, grows just about anywhere. It's called "weed" for a reason!

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay

Nay.

Drug use is generally a slipper slope to travel on. Why encourage it? I have seen a lot of good people (well I thought so, but let's just say I don't hold high opinions of common drug users it's a cowardly coping mechanism for reality amongst a catalyst for crime and other things...) start on this and then move on to worse and more addictive stuff to get a better kick. Our societies are indulgent and in a lot of circumstances lazy enough. More excuses are not needed.

I don't buy into the argument "well people do it anyway so you might as well". There is no comparison to how many people and idiots would be roped into doing this stuff if it was legal to how many are not because it is illegal.

I am quite happy to sit by and see the reckless rule breakers - who are generally worthless individuals - ruin themselves on a path of destruction and even get put in jail. The next step is freezing medical, insurance, educational and any form of benefits that are needed due to drug use related problems. At the current state I can only hope the drug use tops them off before good tax payers penny's are put into feeding their habit or helping them cope with their broken minds.

A little critical if not, one sided... but I am in somewhat of a ruthless mood and this is actually an incredibly complex subject to truly understand and judge..because there are exceptions to the rules as ever, the ideas of social freedom do fall into this as well and it can easily be taken to a point of absolute judgement - as far as we can empirically suggest everything goes from nothing to nothing.. and so is all ultimately meaningless.. ergo we might as well.. live our lives in a rule less way and enjoy them.

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay

Aspirine is a drug, too.

Or did you mean "illicit drugs"? If so, the "pro" argument is that marijuana is NOT illicit.

Illicit, illegitimate: contrary to or forbidden by law; "an illegitimate seizure of power"; "illicit trade"; "an outlaw strike"; "unlawful measures"
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

If an argument relies on grouping marijuana and illicit drugs together and the contrary position questions that very premise, I would infer that such a premise is of low quality and unsuitable, and, in this case, tautological. If we are trying to prove that marijuana should be illegal, we should not rely on it having the status of an illegal drug to prove that.

Yes and... erm... I know this. I was obviously arguing against the pro position.

Of course we should use it. It is.. after all... illegal for a reason is it not? My argument did not rely on it.. it used it... I aimed mainly at the fact it is commonly accepted as a step down a path of drug abuse and negativity and that it also points out several things in regards to someone's character but that this is not always the case either. This of course is based on personal experience too... not just here-say.

Re: Legalize Marijuana - Yay or Nay

For a reason? Probably. Is that reason that it is harmful? Not necessarily.

I can think of many reasons that would not justify its illegality. The fact that it is illegal does not mean that the actual reasons for which it is illegal justify it being illegal.
