Not really no. I hate people whose only defense is their own belief. Ignoring solid fact is quite irksome and I plan an argueing my point until I get bored or God shows up and slaps me around for ganging up on the faithful.

Ok. Point taken. At least I can't say I didn't try...

At the end of the day we all want the same things, right? Something to munch on, a place to sleep, that significant other...

What say you all? Are you with me?

But that would get us nowhere. The truth shouldn't need coddling, and thus I want to see/discuss as many different view points as possible.
At 'worst', I see the light and convert. At 'best' I realize i'm on the right path. It's a win-win situation as long as the debate is conducted in a benevolent and educational manner.

Now I do think we have drifted away from polite discussion, but then, this thread was started by a troll so it wasn't exactly a congenial meeting to begin with...
*slaps orici for comic relief* :)

Spacey, now that you have re-arrived, care to cast your opinions?
(though I would guess you already have in the post quoted )

Even if there is a God(s) why should I worship it?

My mum is going blind, my brother has diabetes, and my sister is retarded. If I had the ability I would help them; but God would have the ability and yet he does not.

Christians use free will to defend evil but if there is no pain in heaven but we still have free will then why would God create earth with all this pain?

Religion is a system of social coherence based on a common group of beliefs or attitudes concerning an object, person, unseen being, or system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine or highest truth, and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions, and rituals associated with such belief or system of thought. It is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system", but is more socially defined than that of personal convictions. The development of religion has taken many forms in various cultures.

if you want to continue to argue back up your statements before I plow you under.

as I said, I'm not a Bible scolor, much less have much knowledge on cults... I try to stay away from them..... as for your insults that you want me to back up with facts, I have done so multiple times

so volcanoes, astroids, solar radiation, radioactive elements, poison gas, and tidal waves are the result of our sins?

in a way, yes. Astroids? I don't know about that one though.... radiation perhaps has always been there, along with radioactive elements, but we had/have a sheild, does that matter?

poison gas - probably, but it probably wasn't poisonous
tidal waves? Probably didn't exist, not with how things were

remember, I dont' claim to "have been there", or know it all

If it was perfect it would not end up like this it always had the potential to screw up so it was not perfect.

Questions:

Why create the tree of knowlege? There were other ways to disobey.

Why let satan screw with them?

Why make Eve so curious?

Why not start over or only punish adam and eve?

Why does God need worship?

Why not help us?

God knew it would screw up so what does it matter that he created it "perfect" when he created earth he knew of all the pain that he would cause.

because he chose to give us a free will. Remember, in the next life, it will be better, thats garrentteed... anyways,

tree of knowledge - don't know, I'm not intelligent enough to answer that
why? Because they had free will... don't ask me more than that
eve.. why? Human emotion... darn them! Again, dont' know the right answer, I'll ask when I see him :)
why not start over... I've never thought of that  Good question! Another one to ask him...
Why does God... because he's a jealous God
why not help us - He does... you ever hear of miracles? They do happen still... but I'm so not the right person to ask...

These are just baby questions I am asking and already the answers are not great.

So since god is jealous billions will suffer on earth and then burn in hell so he can get his much needed worship?

Only about 30% of the world's pop is Christian so 70% will burn forever, it is random chance that you ended up with the family/religion you did.

What about the stars? They are millions/billions of light years away and yet the light is here now. If God created the light in-transit then everything we see in space would be an illusion.

Its been proven that the speed of light slowed down, there has been proof that the speed of light was instantanious, but thats way over my head
Live-for-christ- SHUT UP HIPOCRIT

*ahem*

comeforth - he is a perfect example of the pharisees - he doesn't care about others sufferings, and God dealt with that also

Is it random chance? I think not. Is it a blessing? Yes...

I do not mind religion or think that it is evil or anything I just do not believe it. As of date I am aware of no studies that show that the speed of light through a vacuum changes. The speed of light (C) can change in other mediums but not a vacuum.

I enjoy discussion so the questions do not have to be one way. I can answer questions on what I believe.

it has been growing exponentually slower in changing, true, but it did change - what I've found. Anyways, what do you believe then?
