it is definetly NOT needed in chaos... it would just make game worse there... and it has been discussed there, and defined ok by many players...

It's needed most there... since not everyone has the pleasure of being able to cheat like that (I CAN NOT install anything other then IE at work)... and it's Naturally the ones that can use it to cheat that won't like that they can no longer have an advantage like that... D'uh...

It'd be like having one hockey team being allowed to do ANYTHING while the other team has to play by the rules and suffer penalties... Just because you can cheat does not make it right... and if the Admins can make it so people can not cheat, then they should...

it has been discussed in the chaos forums, and it has been agreed on that it is not cheating... besides, it wont be needed the next wave, as forum has added more digits to the development server...

I had read all that... and it still doesn't make it right... but at least next wave will be cleaned up a little... but then there should be something to stop the Temper Data...

the best way to stop it, is to make it unneccesary... for if measures simply to make it harder to use are implemented, people will always find a way... but if it is unneeded, they wont need to find that...

Tamper data is not cheating dude, and personally i don't see why its upsetting you.

It doesn't do very much game wise anyway. A few less mercs to worry about...

Its needed in chaos, so to take it away from there now will destroy it.

R3B3L.. it's the fact that not everyone can do it... that is the issue that makes it unfair... and I would be arguing this case even if I could do it... which I can at home...

as far as we know, there are similar pieces of software available for other internet browsers, but we cant say for sure, since we only use firefox...

but we just have to say, life is unfair... just as tamperdata isnt available to those that dont bother to aquire it, there is similar difficulties for those not posessing SS... we do not deny the fact that we have used tamperdata, but we have only used it on chaos, and then only for market or for training more units than the boxes have digits for... and we do not like those using it for buying mercs...

It is an unfair advantage. period. It needs to be stopped or the 999 limit removed one so everyone can buy mercs not just a chosen few.

Whats the point of the 999 limit if your not going to enforce it?

I say if someone use it its an unfair advantega against those who use the game correct.
Lets say mercs... with TD 1 ppl can take all mercs a turn... than thoose who only can put in 999, never can take more... that an unfair advantage... If admin wanted this to be useable he rather raised the digits i think.

The 999 max on mercs is probably so that a single player can't swoop in and clean out the market the instant the turn refreshes, not because Admin only programmed 3 digits.

If so, than tamperdata and other similar gadgets allow players to get around that obstacle and take all the mercs for themselves.

I would have no problems if someone used tamperdata to train more troops or something like that. After all, all that stuff is yours already. I just have issues with a single person with tamperdata instantly emptying the merc market at the start of each turn on main.

Its an exploit. Using it gives u an unfair advantage. Using expoits is forbidden. Its in the rules.

we suggest then to implement that idea about adding a limit on merc trading only... but only if it doesnt slow game... and not implement it in chaos, as there are no mercs there...

accounts have been deleted before for using it, so if you believe it's not, you take that risk.

you may think it's not, but that is the official statement, tamper data is illegal.
