Can Commanders take your naq?

For newcomers to ask questions to the other users... this section will usually answer most questions... requesting resources (naq/UUs/ATs) is not to be done here...

Can Commanders take your naq?

I recently changed my race, and at the same time was concentrating on my UP. I got the UP to 820, and I was happy to see that the increase in UP was already affecting my naq production, something that had been quite dissapointing up until then. The naq per turn was about 880k when I noticed, aout a day or two after the race change, that I no longer had a commander. I figured the race change must have done it, since there was no bad blood that I knew of between us, so I contacted my commander and he welcomed me back as an officer. I looked at me naq this morning and it is back down to just above 800k/turn.
So my question is can having a commander actually decrease naq production? I was under the impression having a commander helped. My UP is same, and my naq production is less. I didn't use any of my unassigned troops, so shouldn't naq production have gone up? Is this something my commander is causing, or just an odd fluke of the game? I don't want to accuse him of anything out of ignorance.
Please help

no, ur commander gives u either 10%, 20%, or 30% (roughly) of his income. He can choose how much to give u. If he changes that % ur income per turn will decrease.

OK, so any idea what makes your income drop, besides assigning troops?

if ur commander drops the percent he gives u from lets say 30% to 20% it will decrease the amount of naq income u get

Or if he gets more officers.

one other thing they didn't say. having no commander does give you a 10% bonus to naq production and Unit generation(ie total UP)

other topics don't matter much in this forum... most just post their questions here without looking through and seeing if they've been answered already.

it's a sad truth... but i live with it.

Yeah, all us noobs are pretty much alike *sigh*

Thanks for the info Psi, that was exactly what I was looking for. Explains the income loss. Glad I didn't jump down my commanders throat now. :)
