I'd like to be able to keep some of my miners available to untrain and use wherever they are needed. There are times that I would also like to just commit my UU to lifers.

Technically when you ascend your only suppose to keep your lifers... your supppose to lose everything :-)
Which is why I would like an easier method to get lifers. :-D

but there's a problem:
you can easy get too many lifers

let we say you can train lifers directly only if you can ascend (have enough uus, G&R points and so on) not all the time

If you train lifers, you're pretty much doing it for one reason... to prepare to ascend. It's no different than training supers. You are committing them to serve one purpose in the game. You still have the option to train miners. If you make the mistake of training too many supers, you can't change that... same thing with lifers.

Another possible solution could be to be able to trade UU for Lifers on the Market... an even swap.

lifers are yours for all ethernety

and when/if you have 90 mill lifers, your [edit out], dont you think so?

No more masking. Spacey.

What's with the number 90 mill? Is that the max number of troops you're permitted? If you come close to the number, then that's your own fault. Part of being a commander and playing the game is troop management. If you can't manage them properly, then you deserve to get screwed. Lifers move on... and so do your planets. It's up to you to upgrade and train properly IMO...

wen u ascend u try to make all ur mineslaves into lifers by training and untraining them. THIS TAKES WAY TOO LONG. so my idea is to have a button or an option that makes all ur mineslaves into lifers, sort've like the way u can have ads on or ads off. the rules still apply so that means that lifers cant be umtrained.

the options could be like:

1. 90% mineslaves 10% lifers
2. 50% minslaves 50% lifers
3. 0% mineslaves 100% lifers

i think if people want to make all their UU into lifers then they should be given that option - but that it should still cost as much as it currently costs to continuously train/untrain their UU into miners/lifers. i.e. - it shouldn't be free (although I can't really see the need - at least not for most people).

it would cost 15,000 for 10 minelsaves, one of which would be a lifer.

lifers should cost 15,000 each

it could be a new option under minselave on the training page.

btw, is admin still having chats on irc

I like the idea of being able to train as many uu/miners into lifers as you want at a click of a button, I always have wanted this to happen, BUT, for this to work, it as to be made possible to untrained/set free lifers because if that was not possible you would eventually reach 50 mill in lifers then you wont beable to send recieve uu through trading.

It could be done so that once lifers, 25% can be set free every so often, once a month for example, and if you reach over 50 mill lifers the percentage can be increase slightly so that lifers wont stop you from trading.

You can send uu to a friend while you ascend but if that friend got greedy and decided to keep them then there lost to that person because admin will stay out of it.

Admins warning!

If you make trades outside of this market, the game administration takes NO responsibility for the results. All trades outside of this market are now considered 'black market' trades, and are protected by nothing - you open yourself up to the above mentioned scams that some people work very hard to lure other players into. Please use your judgement, and - if you take a risk and try to trade outside the game - be prepared to lose everything and accept it.

So yes I like this idea alot, possibly needs a little more thought into it but I like it.

Or even do it so once made into slaves (lifers) you get 12hrs or less to change your mind and then could set them free.

i think what could really solve this issue is giving another box where you train LIFERS. Since you can never retrieve these units back it would only cost 750 naq

The clue is in the name - 'LIFERS' - i.e. untrainable - to be able to train/untrain them as you suggest would go agianst the point of introducing them in the first place. The fact that they are untrainable was to act as a penalty of sorts for turning UU into miners (which are unraidable).

As for what you say about admins warning and a friend possibly getting greedy if you send UU prior to ascension - to be frank, that is not a valid reason for introducing training lifers - it just goes to prove that people need to pick their friends wisely - it's called trust and it is associated with risk - which is a (rapidly diminsihing) part of teh game.
