well, I have been smoking for 16 years, a pack a day, if this was an addiction, why does my tolerance not go up? Tis been a pack a day for 16 years. It is a well known fact that addicts to any substance built up a tolerance to the abused substance.
Secondly, if we were truly physically addicted to nicotine or tobacco, that would mean if we stopped our body would not function normally, we would need nicotine just to function normally, right? Ok, we might get irritated but we still function normally when we quit because it's not nicotine our body needs.
Also, if this was a true physical addiction to nicotine or tobacco, how can some ppl just stop smoking cold turkey? their cells would need nicotine to function normally but that is not the case.
Another thing is, patches don;t work, the gum don't work , the spray don't work, cyban don't work, if this was truly a nicotine addiction, the patch or gum or whatever would do its job supplying us with the needed flow of nicotine we are supposedly "addicted" to but that is not the case.
And lastly, all traces of nicotine leave the body completely after 5 days, some say 2, some 4, so after 5 days you should be home-free, right? but we not because our body isn't looking for nicotine.
Smoking is simply a conditioned response, not a tobacco or nicotine addiction. Change your conditioned responses and quit just like that.
Hey, when I smell coffee in the morning I gotta have that smoke. What I did is, I conditioned my mind to everytime I smell coffee, I have a glass of water and it works. So observe what triggers you to have a smoke and simply instead of having a smoke have a glass of water.
Best thing is when u start realizing how you are a slave to your self made conditioned responses, like you suddenly realising why you want to have a smoke in the first place. As soon as you realise these automatic responses, you can change them and finally truly be free and be the sole owner of your body and guardian of your health, no longer a slave to your self-made responses, like a robot, oh beer=smoke, barbeque=smoke, coffee in the morning=smoke, stress=smoke, NO, no more, decide RIGHT now you are no longer a slave and put down that packet, take control of your life and join the non-smokers.
Say aloud: I am a non-smoker, cammon...I AM A NON SMOKER, I DON"T SMOKE...I AM A NON SMOKER, Feels good, doesn't it, your whole life can feel incredible like that, you are a non smoker, you are a non smoker, you are free of cigarettes, you don't need them, you'd rather have a nice, tall glass of pure water.
Good luck pal
